My Geekiness Revealed...

Big Secret #1: Since last August, I record each book I have read -- and there have been many -- into a little schoolbook-type ledger that I hide away in my apartment, lest it be found.

I'm really not sure what led me to this anal exercise. Perhaps it is that I have been working at my current job far too long (an accounting firm, although I am not an accountant). Perhaps I am trying too judge how many books I actually read, with the current measure of needing another bookshelf being antiquated. Perhaps I am bored. Perhaps it has something to do with reading Nick Hornby's "The Polysyllabic Spree" around that time. Perhaps it is none of these.

It could be worse, though, I guess...one is reminded of the story of the man found dead in his cluttered apartment, unable to free himself from a mound of toppled newspapers. Or I could have 15 cats.
